students in Odegaard library

If you are an incoming first-year student at the University of Washington Seattle campus, you don’t have to complete a separate application to enroll in an College Edge course. Simply follow the registration instructions below.

Before you’re eligible to register, you need to submit your New Student Enrollment & Orientation Fee, confirming that you will be attending the UW in Autumn quarter. You can confirm that you have completed this step by visiting this website

Registration Instructions

Registration for all College Edge courses opens Monday, April 22nd 2024. Course sizes are small and seats may fill quickly, so students are strongly encouraged to sign up as soon as possible to secure a spot.

To register, students are going to visit their UW First Year Student Checklist. This checklist comprises various tasks you will need to complete as you transition to the UW, including making your A&O reservation, and it provides the opportunity to secure your College Edge course seat.

Registration closes on July 12th. At that point, the program fee will be added to your student account. See the costs and financial aid page for details.

All College Edge courses are open for registration on a first-come, first-served basis. If a course that you were hoping to take fills before you grab a seat, we recommend selecting another course as a back-up plan. Students can make adjustments to their course selection through June 28th, so you can periodically check back and see if your first choice course has an opening between April 22nd and July 12th 2024.

Confirming Your Registration

Once you’ve registered for a course in the First Year Checklist, you will sign a contract to commit to College Edge. After July 12th, you will receive an email the day that your College Edge course appears on your MyUW account, as one of your Autumn quarter classes. At that time, the program fee will be added to your student account, in addition to a $55 registration fee.

You’ll need a UW NetID to access MyUW. You received information on how to obtain your NetID in your UW acceptance materials. See the UW NetID page for more information.

Last-minute changes to course times and locations sometimes occur. Before the first day of class, check MyUW for any updates.
